Fiji's highest court ruled that President Ratu Josefa Iloilo acted within his power when he installed Commodore Frank Bainimarama after a successful coup in 2006.

Former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase, who as ousted by then miliatry commander Bainimarama said the ruling in the coup-plagued South Pacific nation could lead to future instability.
